THE RED DOOR

Always on the look out for were the light is, were it comes from, how it effects each object and shape in the painting and also how light changes the colour of the object too. Th red door was broken down in this way with each element being treated with this in mind.
Great fun to see developed ...go on gin it a try

I caught a glimps of a programe on TV, only fleetingly, but loved the way the dark was framed by the light all around it, so I just wanted to capture it!...A great thing about watercolour and painting loose and quick is you can do it straight away, no fuss, no real prep, just do it)

I dropped by Painter's On-Line recently to have a look at some of the great work on their gallery pages, some great work on there, so I thought I'd drop a couple of recent pieces on too, this Poinsettia being one...anyway long story short, I got a emails saying they had chosen this one has the editor's choice and will feature in the April edition of The Artist....I fell over but am very pleased)

A recent street scene was a great joy to paint, it felt as if i was moving down the street and along in front of the main building....almost there. Only took around 30 minutes but pleased with the result.
